My Obituary for Dr Tim King, Tripos, AmigaOS, Helios and UK Online Pioneer
- gbraad 2mo agoI had an email conversation with Dr Tim King, before enrolling into electronics and CS (around age 15?). This conversation definitely confirmed this choice. He was very helpful and kind, explaining a lot about the OS level, how bcpl was used and how to develop for a new platform and the challenges. I remember this fondly and often hoped to thank him at some point. RIP
- lproven 2mo agoThank you for that!
- gbraad 2mo agoSeeing the message on that day shocked me, as I hoped he would attend some Amiga meetup. I am unfortunately in Asia these days, so it makes it harder. Regardless, he was legendary and for me the crown on my Amiga history, it really made me who I am now.
- lproven 2mo agoUpdate to this: his son contacted me and informed me that Dr King was in fact 71.
