Voting has always been about the lesser of two evils.
- joshdavham 2mo agoIn the last Canadian election, I actually largely liked what I was seeing from our two major parties. It fortunately didn't feel like the choice between two lesser evils, but rather a choice between two greater goods. (I don't say this arrogantly, I actually did like both candidates and platforms). With that being said, I do lament that we Canadians and Americans live in two-party states, which is terrifyingly close imo to a sort of one-party state.
- techteach00 2mo agoI think I'm a communist now. I believe both liberalism and conservatism have failed to address the needs of Western populations. Wasn't always like this. The post war system was never going to last forever.
- BLKNSLVR 2mo agoI think most all -isms can work, in the absence of massive corruption. But this may just be another way of saying that most all -isms cannot work. Strengthening of anti-corruption rules and powers under any system of government should work to strengthen that system of government. I don't know what it would look like though. Any sufficiently powerful entity is just more prone to corruption, so it could move the corruption into different places, as opposed to stamping it out.
