Yup. A very wealthy friend of mine tells me that the key is avoiding personal debt (and being careful about corporate debt, too). When I got married, I had a lot of credit card debt, and I had to use most of our wedding gift money to nullify it. It was humiliating, and I vowed never to carry a balance again, and to avoid any form of debt, if at all possible. WFM YMMMV
