Is YC News an American website? It seems like all the comments are advising against American interests with regards to tariffs.
- rhyperior 1mo agoAre you not loyal and patriotic if you see your government is bad for the people and you support opposition to it? US citizen here. Fight back against my government, please, even when the current admin is replaced with another more benign one.

- metabagel 1mo agoTrump doesn't have the legal authority nor the mandate to enact arbitrary tariffs. His previous attempt ended with the Supreme Court declaring his tariffs illegal. This was the President of the U.S. willfully breaking the law, and he's doing it again. The law is not meant to be stretched into whatever shape Trump wants. And Trump has given no thought to his tariffs. There is no analysis underlying it. It's just him acting out like a child and trying to get some kind of "win" that he can sell as a personal triumph.
- metabagel 1mo agoTariffs in and of themselves might make sense, but the process has been arbitrary and illegal. There needs to be some sort of a plan to these things, and there is no apparent plan here.
- rhyperior 1mo agoI don’t understand your confusion? Canada is standing up to bullying tactics from a corrupt administration. Yes, please, more. And if the world would continue to stand up for themselves in the future we might have more balanced relationships.
- tensor 1mo agoGiven how poorly everything is going for the US thanks to these tariffs that certainly is a take. Brace yourself though, it's going to get worse!
