There is a very particular tension that results from over-consolidation and the inability to support competitors in a sector. Having become TBTF, it is such that governing philosophies converge to a only one set thereof. This is half the reason it is preferable to have 100 redundant manufacturers, rather than 1 super integrated one you can't do anything about. Employee arbitrage of employer and employers having to literally compete with one another for talent keeps managerial excesses in check.
Get rid of those extra competitors, get rid of the check on shitty corporate behavior.
