- teiferer 2mo agoThen you probably had a home country IP and they filter based on IP.
- kelnos 2mo agoIf you're using roaming on your cellular plan, all your traffic is routed over VPN to your home country, so local blocks don't work. (That's one of the reasons why it's trivially easy for foreign visitors to China to bypass the Great Firewall.) If you were on wifi, that's notably interesting.
- kioleanu 2mo agoI was on the resort’s WiFi, no vpn. What is strange maybe is that if I search my outgoing ip address, the resort is listed as the ISP
- zarzavat 2mo agoWe can tell OP is using local or unencrypted DNS because they got DNS-redirected to a message. If you have DoH configured at either OS or browser level then you will not see a message: the site will either work, or it will error out if the IP is blocked. If you are using an alternative DNS provider over unencrypted DNS then either outcome is possible.
- inigyou 2mo agoI'm not sure that roaming still works that way. It used to. I think you get configuration from your home network but everyone involved tries to get your traffic onto the internet at the closest opportunity.
- mdp2021 2mo agoWe can research on what happened, but it is pretty obvious... You are nonetheless talking about the .ph - only that. And: italy has done much, much, 1000000 orders much worse (Gutenberg).

- sph 2mo agoIt’s DNS-based blocking. Don’t use your ISP’s DNS. Use 1.1.1.1 or something else and tell Mrs. Meloni to go suck eggs.
- inigyou 2mo ago1.1.1.1 has been ordered to comply and is being fined until they do; use your own local resolver (it's not that hard).
- N19PEDL2 2mo agoI’m in Italy now and I can open the Archive page with the article.
- LtWorf 2mo agoChange your DNS in your browser to DNS over HTTPS. I use mullivad's server.
