Man, you really got lucky they didn’t throw you in jail. Anything related to national defense is pretty scary. Do you think you might get some kind of reward for exposing this vulnerability?
- lukan 1mo agoFortunately it was the national defense of a different country (UK and not germany) so that might have helped.
- Barbing 1mo agoDon’t know how one could live with themself prosecuting security researchers. Think they’re saving face?

And I would say too that she got lucky. It would not be the first time that inexperienced young persona have to suffer the consequences even of their well intended actions.
- MotoriX 1mo agoHonestly, the machine doesn’t care about all this amateur stuff. It just sees it as a threat, like any other hacking attempt.
- edelbitter 1mo agoYou never know in Germany. Jail time might still be looming.. after some 3-5 years of delay because the telefax machine at the public prosecutors office is currently broken (and not even for DNS reasons!)
