I'm an English teacher in Japan. I only started reading Hacker News because one of my private students -- an IT guy who needs to improve his English to keep up with the cutting edge -- got me interested. I'm a computer nerd at heart, but that's not where life has taken me so far. Maybe one day I'll end up like snugglethorpe, or maybe I'll go back to my home country and do something like what MalphasWats is doing, but currently my day job involves teaching rooms full of surly Japanese teenagers how to use the passive voice. But I do know Javascript. And JQuery. And Haskell. And C+++. And....
