Is it a paid job?
- cyanydeez 2mo agocan I do it with AI?
- dgellow 2mo agoYou have free will
- namblooc 2mo agoRobert Sapolsky would disagree
- dgellow 2mo agoI would assume Sapolsky understands how terms are defined by their context, and that someone saying “free will” in a forum discussion about software doesn’t literally imply the strictest, academic definition of the term. But if not he can reach out
- namblooc 2mo agoI'm curious as to what other definitions of the term exist, other than the academic one? I had never though of using the term in any other context. But maybe that's because I've been concerning myself with this specific topic for too long.
- dgellow 2mo agoIn colloquial parlance that means “it’s up to you, you can do what you want and don’t need permission”
- coldtea 2mo agoIf there isn't free will, he doesn't really disagree. He just says whatever predetermined shit he was supposed to say.
- hdjrudni 2mo agoPaid to make such a post? No, but Bun has real users. If there are real issues in 1.4, surely someone will come out. Here... I'll go first. `bun repl` in 1.4-canary has some rendering issues where characters get overwritten that I had previously not observed in 1.3.
- coldtea 2mo agoFor the company making the port, it should be. For the internet at large no, but the comment doesn't make sense. It's not as if volunteers don't post all kinds of checks, and reports, and benchmarks, and deep dives anyway.
