- DiggyJohnson 1mo agoDid you ever consider downsizing or renting to be closer to work? I can’t imagine choosing to commute that far every day.
- fg137 1mo agoMost people don't "choose" to commute. They are forced to because of life constraints.
- cactacea 1mo agoOf course? It wasn't really a choice, just making the best of bad and worse options.
- itsboring 1mo agoBy downsizing, you mean cramming my family into a crappy, small apartment in a terrible school district?
- account42 1mo agoThat just shifts the personal cost from commute time to reduced quality of life at home.
- j_rosenberg 1mo agoShoreline to downtown Seattle is not even close to 1 hour each way by car, maybe 35 mins, if you stretch it. That been said, I feel you, commuting sucks, consider living closer or finding a new gig.
- ewb 1mo agoWith the I-5 construction an hour is 100% believable. Just did a quick check and the Shoreline Costco to Pike Place at 9 on a Tuesday morning is 35m-65m according to Google Maps.
- j_rosenberg 1mo agoThere is plenty of alternative routes, I-5 is a dumb route to take because everyone thinks the same way, you could take aurora avenue, or cross the bridge from ballard, or even the other one close to UW. Google Maps is also wrong all the time btw.
- ewb 1mo agoHave you been doing the commute lately? All the routes are bad, it’s just a question of bad or worse. I have to make the drive sometimes and it typically takes 40 min or so just to north Seattle.
- cactacea 1mo agoYou really do not know what you're talking about.
