- bluedino 1mo agoThe true workaholics are brining their laptops home to do this either way.
- bryanlarsen 1mo agoThe true workaholics are a small minority, though. Office workers who do this are part of the small minority. OTOH, it's a regular occurrence for those who work remote: not because they're workaholics, but because they're putting in their eight.

- SirFatty 1mo agoyeah, but not extra hours, just putting in the mandatory required. Friends, neighbors that work from home do the same. Heck, our AP clerk that works remote is processing transactions at 2a and is unreachable during normal business hours.
- MaxHoppersGhost 1mo agoThose aren't the same workers though. There's a dichotomy of remote workers - some are screwing off during the day and some are working more hours than they should be since it can be hard to unplug from the desk (especially if it's a full remote cmpany with people across four plus timezones).
- bryanlarsen 1mo agoLike everything, you remember the exceptions. Most people are in the middle, doing their 8. As remote workers they might take an hour to do a Costco run while it's not busy, and work an extra hour after the kids are in bed. Yes during COVID there were a lot of remote workers not doing much, but hopefully most companies with a good remote work culture have weeded those out by now.
