Thank you for holding your ground here. As frustrating as it can be to wade into these threads, pushing back brings some much-needed sanity to a conversation that otherwise gets drowned out by propaganda (or at least the one i'm used to as consumer of regular western media). Beyond the main points, this exchange is a useful case study in Hasbara and bad-faith debate tactics.
(whataboutism, shifting goalposts, and semantic traps designed to derail the discussion; demanding an immediate, comprehensive policy solution just to validate a basic moral critique is a funny double standard given that the Israelis themselves offer no peaceful policy solution or path toward equal rights)
Kudos for calling out these rhetorical games in the open
- weatherlite 2mo agoAnything you disagree with is "Hasbara" right ? Supporting Israel's right to exist - Hasbara. Saying some Palestinian hold extremist view - Hasbara.
- manyaoman 1mo agoNo country has some divine right to exist. If a nation keeps crossing every line, there's no reason to keep it around. How is this not obvious.
- weatherlite 1mo agoReplacing governments, hard sanctions perhaps - yes. Throwing out an entire people? Why ? Why not throw out the Palestinians then?
- manyaoman 1mo ago> Replacing governments, hard sanctions perhaps - yes. I'm on board. To be clear, I'm not advocating ethnic cleansing and never will.
- weatherlite 1mo agoWell you are implying Israel should be dismantled , in the most optimstic scenario that still involves a large chunk of Israeli Jews finding another place to live.
- manyaoman 1mo agoDismantling Israel doesn't necessarily mean Israeli Jews or anyone else would have to relocate.
- throw486332 1mo agoExcellent taqiyya, mate.
- manyaoman 1mo ago"In Islam, taqiyya is the practice of concealing one's faith or religious identity." Joke's on you, I'm a former Christian but no longer belong to any religion. Did you have any actual points you wanted to share?
- weatherlite 1mo ago> doesn't necessarily mean Israeli Jews or anyone else would have to relocate Right. Hamas has an integration plan for the Jews.
- noduerme 1mo agoDon't flatter yourself. You're not the one keeping it around. But your comment illustrates why Israel needs to exist and will continue to exist.
- manyaoman 1mo ago> But your comment illustrates why Israel needs to exist and will continue to exist. Because otherwise common sense will take over? Might take a while to get used to but let's give it a go.
