That set the precedent for all the bad things that came after: 1. Bots on social media commenting on divisive or contentious issues in a country 2. Rise of online incel/red pill culture 3. Rise of stochastic terrorism 4. Cambridge analytica causing a complete shift in the 2016 US elections 5. The gang of 12 who spread nearly 90% of the misinformation during the pandemic Today, most people can't even tell if a song they like on the major platforms was made by AI. People read less. People spend less time in nature. People are more lonely and less likely to be in a relationship or have deep meaningful friendships. What a mess.
