Why would a bar in Alaska close during prohibition when they weren't part of the USA yet?
- tshaddox 2mo agoAlaska wasn't a state yet, but it was part of the United States and thus federal law applied there. Moreover, Alaska passed its own alcohol prohibition laws before the nation-wide prohibition.
- tomwheeler 2mo agoMoreover still, there are still communities in Alaska that have (locally mandated) prohibition.
