I've always kind of wondered... if kids are sitting on bikes, riding together or sitting on the couch, playing games together... is one better than the other

I've always kind of wondered... if kids are sitting on bikes, riding together or sitting on the couch, playing games together... is one better than the other? if I sit with my partner and we read books together or we're on our phone together... is it ok to be in our heads, but together?
