Any new fabs on the horizon or do the powers that be expect the music to stop sooner than that?
- greggoB 1mo agoI believe they've been building them like crazy since covid, but it takes a looong time for them to come online (like 5-10 years?)
- nullbyte 1mo agoCXMT is a memory fab that just opened in China. They achieved a 90% yield on DDR5. Hopefully that could ease up the supply squeeze.
- spystath 1mo agoIt's very unlikely to have any meaningful effect. CXMT DRAM will also be hoovered up the moment it hits the market at the same inflated prices. Even if they had the capacity (they don't) why flood the market when you can just print money?

- mrheosuper 1mo agoCXMT has been in a game for a while, at least since 2025, because my SBC is using their LPDDR4 RAM.
- layer8 1mo agoThey are building fabs on track to get online towards the end of 2027, full capacity production expected for 2028. These are serious pieces of very complex technology that take years, not months, to build.
