AI has already made its way into a lot of areas, like hiring. People use AI to pass all the tests for IT positions, while HR uses AI to go through those resumes and pick the right candidate. So basically, one AI ends up getting hired by another AI. Do I even need to point out that in this situation, people are just gradually stopping to think for themselves?
- danfunk 2mo agoThe current hiring process is a good example of the AI Arms Race that Cory Doctorow was writing about recently. https://pluralistic.net/2026/08/10/deep-state-wopr/#abelard-snazz https://pluralistic.net/2026/08/10/deep-state-wopr/#abelard-... - It's also a good example of a multi-polar trap. The rules of the current game assure everyone looses.

They must understand all of this, but it benefits them, so they just go for the short-term gains. It feels like people aren’t planning to learn or develop any further at all.
