There are ~200 countries, of course on average your country will be less than .5% of emissions. Thinking .5% is small enough to do nothing is exactly the kind of thinking that leads us to inaction.
So yeah, china and the US need to get their act together, but so does every other country.
- anigbrowl 2mo agoCome on, don't throw out decades-old lazy arguments like that. Everyone with above room-temperature IQ understands the concept of energy use per capita, and also that most other developed and developing countries take climate change seriously and have been reducing or capping their emissions for years. What is the point of wagging your finger at a non-existent problem like this?
- alex_duf 1mo agoI'm not so much talking about developing countries, but more like UK, France, Germany etc. Developed countries hiding behind the fact that their contribution is small. Of course it's small... For context in France we regularly hear about how France is responsible for only less than a percent of global emissions. That's specifically what my argument is against.
