Hmm.. I don't agree with you. There's always going to be trollers, but look at reddit; they managed to crowdsource links. If you can crowdsource links (with all the hazzle of Indian SEO-spammers, bloggers wanting traffic and corporations wanting to push their products), lists should be do-able too.
