Qualitatively I’m much closer to a homeless person in terms of my power to control other people.
We should stop calling it a wealth tax and start calling it an unearned power tax. That’s a far more apt term.
- hn_throw2025 1mo agoI meant in real practical terms, not higher concepts. I am fine with not having a private island or a network of influential friends, but I am really really glad I’m not defecating in the street.
- mullingitover 1mo agoThose are things you can buy with a paltry eight figure net worth. I’m talking about 13-15 figures. When you don’t have ‘influential friends’ but obedient servants who happen to be public officials.
