Tell HN: In 2021, there were 4.5 jobs per job seeker vs. 2.5 job seekers/job now
based on https://www.hnhiringtrends.com/ (11x shift)
- jotux 2mo agoThis is an exceptionally small amount of data to draw any conclusion from.
- ed_balls 2mo agoAny better data source? Only things I found is that job postings are down 30% and number of employees at FAANG is lower than in 2021.
- kypro 2mo agoThis surely isn't surprising to anyone though? Most job posts on HN were tech orientated. You generally shouldn't be hiring technical people in 2026.
- dzonga 2mo agoI also noticed the same thing & asked about it here [0]. seems lately HN hiring has been mostly filled with seekers instead of those hiring. [0]: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49279790 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49279790
