Modern camera sensors are so good at light gathering that sometimes the only thing that really looks different is that you see lights turn on and they seem overly bright compared to surroundings. I get the same effect on my home camera, which can make a weak streetlight level of illumination look like daytime and the only tell is that the neighbors porch lights are exceedingly bright. Which is to say, it's underwhelming to see a solar eclipse on a webcam.
