> A joint statement by Buffy Wicks, the lead author of AB 2273, Jordan Cunningham, another AB 2273 author, and 5Rights Foundation states, “The Bill is practicable and realistic, drawing as it does on the UK’s Age Appropriate Design Code (AADC).”
How is Buffy Wicks so damn gullible with tech legislation? Her AB 1043 and AB 1856 (Digital Age Assurance Act), intended to protect children online and regulate Big Tech (but unintentionally criminalizing open source), was sponsored by a dark money influence operation from Meta.

She is actually well-respected with housing and transportation bills but I don't know what's going on with her tech bills.
- StanislavPetrov 2mo agoWell-respected by who? >(but unintentionally criminalizing open source) Why do you assume this was unintentional? Because she said so?
- stuaxo 2mo agoWe have dark money in the UK too and linked to the same orgs it just arrives via different channels.
- expedition32 2mo agoYou cannot make anonymous donations in my country so we know who the Israeli and American agents are.
- vixen99 2mo agoAnd just a few of the Hamas agents as well.
- suslik 2mo agoThese are the good guys, haven't you heard?
- jiaosdjf 2mo agoYou think Israel is going to let anonymous donation laws get in their way? This is the country that stole nuclear material from America, has a PAC that bribes 80% of congress and runs the largest blackmail ring in human history.

- OgsyedIE 2mo agoWhy assume that the appearance of gullibility isn't the act of pretending to be gullible for gain?
- drooopy 2mo agoBuffy is a real name?!
- petepete 2mo agoIt used to be a nickname variant of Elizabeth.
- KptMarchewa 2mo agoThis makes as much sense as Bill and William, or Bob and Robert.
- xyzelement 2mo agoBill/Will and Bob/Rob are a lot more connected than "Buffy" and anything.
- FuckButtons 2mo agoThe only thing Buffy is connected to is slaying vampires.

- inigyou 2mo agoThe DAAA doesn't criminalize open source. Please stop spreading disinformation.
- GoblinSlayer 2mo agoGDPR doesn't mandate cookie consent, and DMCA allows reverse engineering. Didn't help at all.
- inigyou 2mo ago"didn't help" is different from "criminalised open source". If you say the GDPR mandates a cookie consent box, you're simply wrong.
- jiaosdjf 2mo agoAll the key people from 5Rights are of a certain demographic that seems to be involved in "knowing whats best for you".
