- throw03172019 2mo agoSounds like a good investment to save $13B+
- sinuhe69 2mo agoTBH, it sounds more like robbery to me. That is dictated by the majority doesn’t make it right.

- unethical_ban 2mo agoAre you a taxation-is-theft absolutist or is there a line somewhere?
- randycupertino 2mo agoYes, robbery of the US citizens via sophisticated tax avoidance strategies. https://www.propublica.org/article/the-secret-irs-files-trove-of-never-before-seen-records-reveal-how-the-wealthiest-avoid-income-tax https://www.propublica.org/article/the-secret-irs-files-trov...
- matchbok3 2mo agoThe idea of a "one time" tax is so stupid that any person, regardless of income, should oppose it. It just makes no sense whatsoever.
- abc42 2mo agoThere's one use where it makes a lot of sense though: massive downpayments of government debt. Though it should be paired with an iron-clad obligation (like a constitutional amendment) not to let the debt rise like that again in the future.
- vancouvermatt 2mo agoGood for him. If we want more tax dollars, eliminate QSBS stacking that allows $750m in cap gains tax free, charge a tax on loans against assets like stocks, get rid of the carried interest loophole, end the step-up on assets distributed via inheritances, fix the corporate tax strategies that the NY Times documented https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/29/business/economy/offshore-tax-havens-trump.html https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/29/business/economy/offshore... But even better, would be to fix the spending & fraud problems and implement Milei style reforms that stop government salaries for elected officials for deficit spending...
- spottedmarley 2mo agoGood for him, somebody ought to.
