I love how everyone knows this has nothing to do with kids safety. However no one can or is willing to put up a fight. In the UK where I live its the same. Government does whatever they want and most of us just shrug our shoulders and say "that's messed up" and go on about our day.
- ethin 2mo agoThe reason is ridiculously simple: people don't put up a fight because they don't want to be labelled as a peto or as someone not in favor of the protection of Children. This is primarily why this cudgel is brought out so often: it's very difficult to oppose because you risk getting shunned for it.
- anigbrowl 2mo agoHow has this fatalism been working out for your society?
- doublerabbit 2mo agoIt sucks for sure. But how is it going for yours or any other country? I can't even get the politician of my city to reply to me in email because of his arrogant persona. How am I suppose to change something when I can't even get the local politician to listen? Cash would; but I'm stripped for that. You have any?
- anigbrowl 2mo agoThe UK is relatively small and I see surveys suggesting 70-80% of the population think the country is on the wrong track. Perhaps you should have a national strike or something, make the politicians come crawling to you instead of the other way around.
- xyst 2mo agoDon’t worry. It will all burn down soon. This administration is preparing the narrative to "cancel the midterms" if they lose the senate and house. Using the illegal war as cover.
