Even in Mississippi what you describe would not qualify as a "top of the line house". In fact that would be pretty average working class home.
The kind of homes a lawyer or doctor could afford to buy in low cost area like mississippi can easily be 2 or 3x that size and resemble small castles. Think elevators and wrap around double staircases.
- toasty228 2mo agoSure buddy, last time I was in the states I witness your glorious single pane sliding windows that weren't even air tight and shitty vinyl flooring that we don't even install in social housing here, that was in a multi million dollar house in Berkley btw. Oh and I forgot, it passes passivhaus requirements
- barbacoa 2mo agoBerkley is defiantly not representative to most of the USA. They have strange regional politics that restricts most residential construction.
- hdgvhicv 2mo agoAmerican houses are made of paper. They need reroofing so often the cost always comes up in discussion of house ownership.
- stufffer 2mo agoEuropeans think they have it hard worrying if their elderly family will die from the summer heat, but they will never know the pain of maintaining a 10 ton, 4 zone HVAC system for your mcmansion.
