I know as much about it as every geopolitics expert who's responded to me - in that I have seen news stories. What of it? Do you take every news story you read at face value? I don't. Hence - no opinion; unlike all the experts on modern Syrian history we have here who have no doubt great amounts of knowledge on the civil war, finer points of ideologies, accurate death counts from third party sources, et.
Also, do you know how to read? I said it was propaganda and laughably biased. Weasel words. Can you not see them? Never accused them of fabricating anything.
- EA-3167 2mo agoSo because you deem others to be speaking in ignorance, you decided to follow their example, but with a contrary position? What a waste of everyone's time.
- LAC-Tech 2mo agoI didn't take a contrary position. I admitted my ignorance, and took a neutral position. Propaganda is propaganda. I've even seen propaganda I agree with.
- EA-3167 2mo agoIt's interesting how every single person replying to you here has the same impression of what you're saying, except of course for the other person saying the same thing as you, but louder. I'm not going to suggest anything by that, other than the fact that if your communication style is so readily misunderstood, and the topic involves a regime who's mass graves are literally still being disinterred, why do you feel such a strong need to wade in and announce your... ignorance? Your susceptibility to propaganda? It's a strange choice at best.
- LAC-Tech 2mo agoTwo things are worth mentioning 1) I am less affected than others if people don't like what I say. I'll say things I think even if I know it won't be well received. 2) If you say things outside peoples overton window, they will immediately conclude that you believe the opposite to them. So the misinterpretations do not surprise me. Of course I must love Assad, probably rUzZiA too, and the nazis etc etc. Argumentum ad Populum based on the opinion of HN commenters talking about geopolitics genuinely does not sway me.
