Doomscrolling vs. no-news-at-all is a false dichotomy. There are calm sources of news. And nothing wrong with learning events from others a few days later. What would you have done with the Biden news?
- bee_rider 2mo agoNo-news-at-all was the suggestion in the post they responded to. It seems like a detox type idea (it doesn’t seem sustainable). I think you are right that there’s some middle ground between 0 and doomscrolling that is preferable, though.

I'd read "Amusing Ourselves to Death" so it particularly resonated with me at the time. I've watched the world get even more sucked in each passing year.
