I am probably in the minority here, but I believe that scientists and researchers are allowed to hold unorthodox and even unscientific beliefs outside their domain expertise. The deeper issue here I think is that they are being treated as gods after they are awarded this prize. And that's mostly a media/journalism problem and their values.
