Assumming it's true, half a cup of rice and tortillas it's a formula for a lot of nutrients deficiency + lack of proteins make the body start pulling it from muscles in order to repair other tissues.

  The last time dire news about the state of morale and food on board a US Navy ship was paraded around it turned out to be pure fiction. That famous pic of the gray "insole" and pile of ground something with carrots was from years before this conflict and in a totally different context. There's a war on, and right now it's mostly a war of propaganda.

Setting that specific claim aside nothing ever came of this, and although I despise the current admin I'm disinclined to think that the Navy was lying when they showed what was really being served days later. It comes down to whether or not you buy anonymous pics from a twitter "OSINT" account or not though.

    Food maybe, but morale on the Ford was reportedly quite low and there has been some conjecture that the fire that has knocked it out of service was not accidental.

      When I consider how highly to value conjecture, I can think about the Mitch McConnell saga and recognize that conjecture is just another word for WAG.

If true, Bill Ackman and Miriam Adelson could hire a cruise ship parked next to the carrier for the sailors to rest, eat and enjoy themselves. Both of them desperately wanted this war.

Loose lips and all that. "An unidentified father, who's also a Navy veteran, reportedly said his son described seeing holes that have worn through the ship's deck." If true, it's crazy that sailors can tell their families so much. Doesn't speak well of security. I'm reminded of WW2 censors who read letters being mailed to families.

  You right to bitch and moan about (a) your commanding officer and (b) the army/navy/air force as appropriate (but not the marines, they don't complain) has been enshrined in the UCMJ for as long as it's existed.

    "There are holes in our ship" and "We're down to two tortillas a day" is more valuable intelligence than "My CO is an asshole". But I don't really know military culture or norms so maybe you're right that this is fine.
