I always did this on all my projects. Until I switched my approach and forced myself to do it the other way around: do the thing first and improve the workflow late. Better to do something annoying one time too often before improving the workflow, than to only improve the workflow and not do the thing.
I'm still a little worried that I'll stop posting on my blog soon, but it's actually been going better than expected. Rooting for Ben to keep posting.
- _benj 2mo agoThanks! writing the next post ATM :-) For the longest time I was completely at a lost for how I was able to complete stuff for my employers but when I decided to do something I could never finish it... Now I think that a big part of it is that my employers couldn't care less about "how the sausage is made" and were solely focused on results, at least that has been the case with some fantastic project managers I've had. > do the thing first and improve the workflow later I like this!
