Well, it is a cycle you know? Microsoft in the 90's looked as impossible to beat down as IBM looked back in the 70's and IBM still exists and it is strong, but is not longer that unbeatable beast that used to be. I wonder if, in a few years, I will be writing this statement again but comparing Apple/Google with Facebook/Twitter/Whatever-is-coming.
