I grew up in a working class town - I'm not working class, but most of my high school friends are, and they mostly work in factories. A lot of them do just that, or listen to mp3s, or whatever. In fact I wondered why one of them posted on Facebook so much until I realised he was constantly playing with his smartphone on the factory floor. Manual labour jobs are still shitty but it does go to show that tech can make people's lives at least marginally nicer.
