Show HN: I created a project management system
- spotlayn 2mo agoI will release the open-source version very soon.

- robot_jesus 2mo agoCongrats on getting to this place. Wishing you success in the long run. But, if I can be honest for a second, there are some pretty rough spots here. First, we're all (or, almost all) using AI and aware of its power. But this site is just so clearly the pure, unfiltered output of an LLM. A human touch on the messaging and positioning would go a long way. The now-common saying: if you can't be bothered to write something once, why should you expect humans to read it? The marketing copy and platform comparisons use so many words to say very little of value. Second, the main video is pretty cringe. The voice alternates between shouting at me and seductively whispering. Third, project management systems are a burned-over district. There are a million competing platforms out there. This is hard to solve and bold promises like "Replace Jira + Slack + Miro with one canvas" just sound preposterously over-the-top. Fourth, the "Built for the people who decide" section looks like quotes but surely those are just AI-generated fake testimonials right? I'm already skeptical of the product but that really kills it for me. On the plus side, it seems you've zeroed in on your niches which is very small, nimble startups and dev teams. Maybe that will help. Sorry,l I hope you take this in the spirit it's given which is honest feedback and I truly do wish you well and hope to see this refine and succeed.
- xnorswap 2mo agoThe pricing page with "12 sold today!" comes across as incredibly fake and possibly illegally so. Also amusing to badge the Pro as "popular" when the "numbers" show it isn't. Then there are weird choices like making AI transcription a selling point but with a limit of just 4 per month on the highest tier.
- _fizz_buzz_ 2mo agoYeah, fake testimonials and sales numbers are problematic both in the US and in the EU and can actually get fairly expensive. I would just leave this stuff off or be very prepared to back the claims. I think a problem is that a competitor (like slack or jira or whoever) might file a complaint.
- robot_jesus 2mo agoOh, good catch. Absolutely no chance those are legit and definitely dubious at best, illegal at worst (depending on the region)
- spotlayn 2mo agoI didn't even launch the system. There were mock data on the homepage. I wanted to get feedback from HN, but instead of using the project and commenting on its functionality, they're CRITICIZING the landing page. It's really strange.
- drcongo 2mo agoAgree with all of this. The voice over in the video was unbearable, sounded like a cartoon dog in a preschool kids' show.

- spotlayn 2mo agoThat's not an honest answer. It's very jealous.
- ikidd 2mo agoWow, what a ignorant response to someone that was giving you genuine feedback. Do better.
- spotlayn 2mo agoThis is not how criticism is done. There is no constructive comment here. There is effort involved, and this person is attacking that effort.
- robot_jesus 2mo agoNot even going to bother replying to the original poster, but thanks for recognizing. Just have never seen anyone on HN misconstrue feedback so badly. Doesn't bode well for their ability to adapt and succeed with a product if they take genuine feedback (corroborated by several others in this thread, mind you) as not constructive and dishonest.
- derdi 2mo agoHow about hosting a read-only demo instance somewhere, so people can explore what this actually looks and feels like? Could be slop-filled, or even be your actual project's data (which I assume might be public enough, given that you are planning to release an open source version).
- tomasantunes89 2mo agoYour website is being flagged by Norton. https://i.imgur.com/OGvUCi0.png https://i.imgur.com/OGvUCi0.png
- bilekas 2mo agoNorton will flag anything that's relatively new.
- voidUpdate 2mo agoWhy include unsplash stock photos for your testimonials? What are they adding? And what makes https://unsplash.com/photos/man-wearing-white-v-neck-shirt-iFgRcqHznqg https://unsplash.com/photos/man-wearing-white-v-neck-shirt-i... a CTO/VP Engineering and https://unsplash.com/photos/a-man-wearing-glasses-and-a-green-checkered-shirt-_omdf_EgRUo https://unsplash.com/photos/a-man-wearing-glasses-and-a-gree... a startup founder? If they were actual photos of the people in those roles, it would make a little more sense, but it's just random photos. You could replace them with cat photos and make the same point

- xeonax 2mo agoWhat LLM model did you use to come up with the feature set? Lots of same points came up in my prototype design docs. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48992492 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48992492 You can see similar specs in mine too. Are all LLM bootstrapped projects going to converge in the future?
