English isn't my first language and even I know "palette" is wrong. Is it normal for official news outlets to write stuff like this?

- gtowey 2mo agoI'm a native English speaker and before your comment, I never noticed that palette, pallet, and palate are different words!

The "and" in your comment implies that you think that being a native speaker should make someone more accurate with this. In fact it's the opposite. It makes sense that it sticks out to you as a non native speaker. Native speakers are less sensitive to the spelling of homophones (and this is true in many languages, not just English).
