For every addict, there are many responsible adults that can set healthy boundaries and have a positive relationship with recreational drugs. This article is for them.
- xg15 2mo agoI don't see an audience description in the article. Especially if you're a responsible adult, wouldn't you want to be informed about the downsides?
- znpy 2mo agoAwful take on the matter. They’re all responsible adults until something goes wrong and they do something horrible.
- fingerlocks 2mo agoA responsible adult prepares in advance for any risk of something horrible happening. This is why sober Trip Sitters exist. There is actually a market for this; you can pay someone to be your designated driver of drugs. Very common

- bitcoin_anon 2mo agoAnd for every adult who believes they have healthy boundaries with recreational drugs, how many are addicts? Based on my experience, I find the words healthy and recreational to be carrying too much water in this context.

- swat535 2mo agoEveryone thinks they can set boundaries with regards to drugs, until they try it and realize that they can't. I don't think anyone trying out hard drugs for the first time thinks that they will be addicted forever. In fact they think: "trying it once couldn't hurt". I think the number of people who are able to set boundaries with regards to addictive substances is in the minority, which is why I'm in favor of regulation for these. That being said, I think that providing clean equipment and environments for addicts is better than putting them in jail. Unfortunately though, many end up suffering from mental illness and become a danger.
