Yeah, but as with most things that are hard to measure, contributions were a proxy that HR and corporates could wrap their heads around ( even though now we can easily see how much it can be gamed ). For a person like me, it kinda sucks. I am a believer, but looking at my github corporate would not deem worthy of their time. Naturally, this means personal connection will be even more important now.
