Why didn't they increment the version as atleast a patch update
- markasoftware 2mo agoThey want to be the next Google it seems
- kzrdude 2mo agoYes, and even if they seem to have updated endpoints in place they should assign the service a version number.
- rubslopes 2mo agoI was also so annoyed by this. It makes communication all around difficult. Why don't they simply call it 4.1 flash?
- crvdgc 2mo agoMy guess would be the version number tracks the architecture change, not the weight change.

- bel8 2mo agoSo whoever is using DeepSeek V4 flash gets a massive upgrade without having to change any config.
- sim04ful 2mo agoThat's an absolutely terrible idea for any non-trivial project consuming it.
- behindsight 2mo agoWasn't it stated as being in "preview" prior to this? If implementing non-trivial tasks on a preview model surely there is some anticipation of it not being the final stable release? Unless you mean they should have appended a "preview" suffix on the endpoint for extra good measure?
- bel8 2mo agoIt was. People are overreacting.
