This was our biggest concern as well. I already talked to few owners and negative connotation was making them reluctant to be on the site.. We thought about different name like "under10" "dimedrop" "Fooglemap" but none of them stuck. (We did like the name Fooglemap, but similarity to Google map will create risk of cease and decease letter if it ever becomes major.. so decided not to do it.)
Still torn on name change.. We want cool / memorable name.
- Belphemur 3mo agoMay I suggest MealOnADime ? Dine n' Save Find your meal I'd say to avoid the under 10 branding because of inflation.
- jaep1 3mo agoMeal on a dime sounds good, checking namecheap right now =)

- kangaroozach 2mo agoLunchBuddy
- mc32 2mo agoThis one is good; however I wonder if GasBuddy would have an issue with it.. otherwise I think it rings nice.
- jaep1 2mo agoYes, I like this name too. But they will get us if we go major. I liked Fooglemap (Googlemap + Food) and Slickmeals (like slickdeals) all very dangerous down the road if we ever become major. They will send cease and decease letter through their lawyer
- ohbleek 2mo agofwiw, I like cheapfoodmap. I like cheap food. Already registered and posted a spot. The site is fun and slick. Good work!
- jaep1 2mo agoThank you! I like the name too, but it has some negative connotation so businesses might not like them.. but thats the part I like about the name.
- commandrea 2mo agoThe name is awesome and those businesses who balk at the word are silly. It's an honor to be able to nourish someone who needs a delicious and affordable meal. They should be proud to be able to offer this blessing to the community.
- jaep1 2mo agoThank you, that is the plan!
- jaep1 2mo agoI like <3
- Aarostotle 2mo agoFroogalMap? Cool idea. I hope this helps people.
- jaep1 2mo agoI hope so too, Google goes after any name that remind people of their name with similar service.. so Froogal / Foogle map was off the table.. but I love the name, I wish I can use it T-T
- rbanffy 2mo ago> cease and decease letter I don’t know if it was an accident or a pun, but I love it.
- tomrod 2mo agoFoodGaloreMap. Focuses on the abundance without the negative miser association. Or FoodMiser works too, just lean into it as a beautiful brand. Because good and plentiful food for cheap is abundance, and good food for relatively cheap is miser's dream.
