I'm not sure about Ghostery, but the TOR Browser bundle (based on Firefox, see https://blog.torproject.org/blog/effs-panopticlick-and-torbutton https://blog.torproject.org/blog/effs-panopticlick-and-torbu...) does apply a few tricks to normalize the browser fingerprint.
