I use this quite often when I'm mocking up a design and I want it to have kind of realism. I've recently discovered http://placehold.it/ http://placehold.it/ which is pretty cool as well
- michaelbuckbee 14y agoYou might want to checkout Holder.js, it is much like placehold.it but client-side. http://imsky.github.com/holder/ http://imsky.github.com/holder/
- netghost 14y agoAlternatively, if you're just looking for a way to put placeholders on a page, image services and javascript solutions seem like overkill. You can achieve the same thing with a bit of css: https://github.com/adamsanderson/placeholder https://github.com/adamsanderson/placeholder
- andrewkkirk 14y agoTwitter Bootstrap recently Replaced Placehold.it with Holder.js, a client-side and retina-ready placeholder image tool.
- gee_totes 14y agoIf you aren't looking for realism, robohash.org is fun
- kesernio 14y agoGreat resource. This can prove helpful for quick comping or prototyping, but I wouldn't present these placeholder photos to a client.
