I know that dust on the panels is one of the reasons that one of the Mars rovers eventually croaked.

  On Mars, the wind storms and dust devils are so fearsome that some of the robots there could rely on dust being blown clean off all the solar panels on a regular basis. Spirit and Opportunity benefited the most from these effects. InSight was stationary and not so fortunate.
