- stavros 3mo agoMelanotrypophobia, although the Greek term is "mayri trypa", literally "black hole".
- brador 3mo agoAny relation to the words melancholy?
- ButlerianJihad 3mo agoYes, that is cognate with ancient Greek μελαγχολία, and with the same root: μέλας https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/melancholy https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/melancholy
- stavros 3mo agoYes, as the sibling said, melancholy means "black bile".
- cwnyth 2mo agoMelanastrophobia, perhaps? "Black star phobia". I don't think a modern term has been coined for black holes from ancient Greek vocabulary.
