India has the wrong government type for its development stage in my opinion. They don't have an educated enough population for a democracy to work yet. They don't have an authoritarian government to make hard decisions and stick to them such as building long-term infrastructure. Yet, their democracy will do something like this which is what authoritarian governments do. Worse of both worlds - none of the benefits of either.
