I don't think we should fear the big corps shrinking over night.
What we should fear is the startups.
Legal startup demonstrates they can do legal work at a fraction of the price. New generation of banks can underwrite at a fraction of the cost, or new insurance companies can insure much cheaper.
This will force the incumbents to reduce head count and use Ai.
- agumonkey 2mo agofair point, that said that's a first phase only, if llm/ai keeps growing steadily it's in theory able to do 90% of non manual labour jobs (and robots are also improving so.. even manual labour may evaporate)
- newsomix9xl 2mo agoIf everyone is using the same AI then its just the new normal. If you cut 50% of your staff over AI your competition using the same AI with twice the staff outperforms you: better products, better quality, more ideas, more work done. AI isn't a moat.
