Why did renewables become so cheap so fast? (2020)
- cpburns2009 3mo agoI've yet to see my utility bill decrease despite investments in renewables. In fact the past two years I've had 9.6% and 10% rate hikes.
- tocs3 3mo agoDepending on lots of things I tend to believe that individual consumers would be the last to see any benefit. Profit will go to the producers first and then the distributors and the consumers will keep consuming.
- cpburns2009 3mo agoThat's likely true. The rhetoric is just frustrating (and dishonest) because the downstream consumer never sees the benefit despite funding it. And just to clarify, I was careful to compare my $/kWh rate increases to account for varying energy use.
