It feels like a sizeable chunk of this website's user base gets triggered when anyone takes any stance at all.

  Yes, many years ago in college we would describe HN as "reddit with a college degree". The same " echo chamber" arguments, but more snob and with less spine

  Other than the neoliberalism stance, "money above all else". This is a marketing site for a VC firm, after all.
