I think there are probably sinister motives behind some of the push to pass keys, but you'd think that if that were true, they would make it really quite easy to add one and to use. That is not the case. The entire setup/enrollment/add a passkey to your account processing is DMV inspired.

Its a lot easier to track email and phone numbers used across multiple sites than it is passkey used on multiple sites.
