  This is unironically soulful though.

I don't think that's AI. It looks more like crappy photoshop.
  • abrugsch 3mo ago
Not even photoshop. Literal cut and paste of physical photos :D

As a digital native, I was shocked to learn that Photoshop's dodge and burn tools were based on real physical techniques for photo development! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodging_and_burning https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodging_and_burning

Thank you! I suspected this to be the case, but was never interested enough to go and look up the history of the technique.

It's been floating around the Internet since at least 2019. It's classic, soulful bad editing.

looks like every kebab shop menu near me. All offerings crudely cut/pasted/mashed together. 5 near me literally have the same menu with different prices and a colour theme to match their (usually terrible, 3-D font effect from 90's era Corel Draw) Logo. And they were like that BEFORE GenAI got popular!

This brought back fond memories of my favorite kebab cart in college. Looked back at their cart on Google Maps and some of the menu items are just the same image stretched differently.
