I only used old.reddit, it's a sad day as I say goodbye to reddit because the new layout is terrible and since they killed open reddit clients there is no alternative.
- IrishTechie 2mo agoYou can still use old.reddit, you just need to be logged in. That said, if old.reddit ever went away altogether I would stop using it too.
- NordStreamYacht 2mo agoI'm able to browse old.reddit.com without logging in right now. Maybe it's for specific subs?
- sphars 2mo agoNot yet, but it's coming to old.reddit.com globally soon: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2026/06/reddit-will-require-you-to-log-in-to-use-old-reddit-com/ https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2026/06/reddit-will-require-...
- NordStreamYacht 2mo agoJust got redirected to download their app after being redirected to the new site.
- therealpygon 2mo agoFor you to give that good-good user tracking data you do.
- nextaccountic 2mo agoMaybe RES (or other extension) should gain a mode where new reddit is rendered in the style of old reddit?
- et-al 2mo agoLogging in is enough friction to prevent me from browsing casually. Especially when I'm on a work computer. One benefit is my productivity had a temporary boost this week until I find another site to read.
- encrypted_bird 2mo agoYou can do it without logging in too if you use an extension that autoredirects. That's what I do. I use a FF extension called Old Reddit Redirect.
- Casteil 2mo agoDoesn't work for me. Seems like this login gate for old.reddit is being progressively rolled out.
- encrypted_bird 2mo agoThat is extremely unfortunate. :( The day I can no longer use Old Reddit is the day I stop using Reddit.
- neop1x 2mo agoSame here. I can't stand the new Reddit. It spins up fans on my $3500 laptop, freezes and loads very slow. Once the old one stops working, I will have to stop using it.
- SadErn 2mo ago[dead]
- dax_ 2mo agoI still use "RedReader" on mobile, this works. If that client would be gone, I'd also say goodbye to Reddit.
- ambicapter 2mo agoThis isn't sad at all, this will help me break my reddit addiction splendidly.
